Privacy

This page explains what we collect when you shop with us, who it goes to, where those people are, and how to get it back or have it deleted. Our store platform maintains a longer policy covering how it processes data on our behalf, which you can read in our full privacy policy. Where the two differ for Australian customers, this page applies. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Who we are

VALEMADRE, a sole trader based in Victoria, Australia. For any privacy question, to ask for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to complain, email valemadrecontact@gmail.com.

What we collect and why

  • Order information: your name, email address, delivery address, phone number if you give one, and what you ordered. We collect this so we can make your order, ship it, contact you about it and handle any return.
  • Payment information: handled by our payment providers. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and the last digits of the card. We do not receive or store full card numbers.
  • Email signup: your email address, if you enter it to hear about new drops.
  • Site usage: basic information about visits to the site, such as pages viewed and the type of device used.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Who we share it with, and where they are

To make and deliver an order, some of your information has to leave us. The recipients, and the countries they are in, are:

  • Shopify, which hosts this store and processes orders. Shopify operates in the United States and Canada.
  • The manufacturing and dispatch partners who make and send your order, located in China. They receive your name, delivery address, phone number if provided, and the items ordered, because they cannot post the parcel without them.
  • Postal and courier services in the country of origin and in your own country, which receive your name and delivery address.
  • Payment providers, which process the transaction.

By placing an order you are asking us to have it made and delivered, which cannot happen without disclosing your delivery details overseas as set out above.

Analytics and advertising tools

We use the analytics built into our store platform to see how many people visit and what they look at. At present we do not run Google Analytics, the Meta pixel, or any other third party advertising or tracking pixel on this site. If we add any such tool, we will update this page to name it before or when it goes live.

Email from us

We only send marketing email to people who asked for it by entering their address on the site or opting in at checkout. Every marketing email identifies us as the sender and carries a working unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing takes effect promptly and does not affect emails about an order you have already placed.

Getting access to your information, or correcting it

Email us and ask. We will tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy, or correct anything that is wrong, normally within 30 days. There is no charge. If we cannot give you access for a legal reason, we will tell you why.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as we have to for tax and accounting purposes, which in Australia is five years from the date of the sale. We keep your email address on our list until you unsubscribe. Anything we no longer need for either reason is deleted.

Deleting your information

You can ask us to delete your information and we will, except where we have to keep records of a sale for the reasons above.

People under 18

If you are under 18, please involve a parent or guardian before giving us your details. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we hold information about your child, email us and we will delete it.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information. Order and customer data is held in our store platform under account access controls, and we limit what we collect in the first place so there is less to lose.

Complaints

Email us first and we will respond. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

If our practices change, we will update this page.
